Advanced GSM Meter Reading Full Version with Load Control and Power Failure Alert project checks energy meter reading and transferring that data to administrator mobile number using GSM modem via message. The purpose of this project is to remote monitoring and control of the Domestic Energy meter. This system enables the Electricity Department to read the meter readings regularly without the person visiting each house. The circuit is connected to the meter which counts the pulses from it and displays it over the display. There is micro – controller 8051 which controls the whole circuit. The project contains a GSM modem for messaging. The project having the following facility:

  1. If system is set in first mode, then it will send current meter reading of the customer at each 10 CALS to the particular number through SMS which maintains the database for meter reading.
  2. If it has been set in second mode, then it will send the meter reading at after each month on 5th of the month to the particular number through SMS which maintains the database for meter reading.
  3. There is 16×2 character LCD display is attached with this project for display the information. It will also show the current reading and other information. Controller updates each time meter reading increases at LCD display.
  4. There is EEPROM also connected to the controller which saves the meter reading even power cut. It means there is no any data lost either on power failure or power cut.
  5. When there will power failure then our system will detect it and alert the user by send SMS for power failure.
  6. The user can also control the load connected to the energy meter by sending pre defined message to system like to control the ON/OFF.
